Ellerbe Springs Inn & Restaurant

Built in 1906 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the inn features 13 guest rooms with Victorian furnishings and a full-service restaurant.  The Spring House is available for special occasions.

Millstone 4H camp entrance

Camp Millstone

Nestled in the tall pines of the Sandhills, 4-H campers and special users enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, shooting and hiking.  Above all else they enjoy the learning experience.  Established in 1939, the center is situated within the 60,000-acre Sandhills Wildlife Management Gamelands and covers 320 acres of undisturbed woodlands. The North Carolina 4-H Museum will open on the site in 2009.

Scenic Byways

Indian Heritage Trail
Runs from Millstone Road east of Ellerbe, through town and west on NC73, over the Little River to Indian Mound State Historic Site.

Grassy Island Crossing
Traverse the Pee Dee River hills on Grassy Island Road, crosses the Pee Dee River on NC109 and picks up on Grassy Island Road again through parts of the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge.

Town Creek Indian Mound
A visit to Town Creek Indian Mound offers a glimpse of pre-Columbian life in Piedmont North Carolina. The visitor center contains interpretive exhibits, as well as audiovisual programs that bring alive a rich cultural heritage from the buried past. Self-guided tours of the rebuilt structures and mound and other group activities are available.
